Can I bake a product that only has frying instructions?
A
Because of the differences in how we carefully prepare and package each product, the cooking directions included on the package should be followed. Some products must be fried. For more help getting the best taste from your SeaPak meal, feel free to read the Shrimp Cooking Tips found in our Shrimp Net section.

Can I microwave a product if there are no microwave instructions?
A
Some products are prepared and frozen in such a way that they may be unsuitable for microwaving. The cooking directions on the package will unlock the great taste of each SeaPak seafood product.

Do your seafood products contain any sulfites and/or preservatives?
A
Sulfites are listed on the labels of products that contain sulfites. Almost all of the shrimp products declare sulfites since the treatment is standard practice to protect the raw shrimp.

Do your products contain natural flavor, modified food starch, or yeast extract?
A
Some do and some don't. Please see the ingredient listing on the package for each product.

I am highly allergic to shellfish, but love salmon. Are your fish products produced in the same facilities where you produce your shellfish products?

Some are and some aren't. Standard Good Manufacturing Practices Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures are used when changing equipment from one seafood product to another.

What does the code on the package mean?
A
A similar production code is found on each SeaPak seafood product. This lets us track each package back to its production location.

How long will my SeaPak product stay good?
A
Generally, our seafood products will remain fresh and ready to prepare for 18 months from the date of production. However, since our products are frozen, they have to be kept frozen the entire journey from our home to yours.

Where do the shrimp come from?
A
Shrimp are caught or raised all over the world. SeaPak shrimp are no exception. Both wild and farm-raised shrimp are used in SeaPak shrimp products.

What is SeaPak doing to support sustainability within the industry and ensure high quality seafood products?

SeaPak is a founding and governing member of the Aquaculture Certification Council, a non-governmental, non-profit body established to certify social, environmental and food safety standards at aquaculture facilities throughout the world. We have products that have been supplied by Aquaculture Certification Council (ACC) certified processors, and we continue to support both ACC and The Marine Steward Council (MSC) efforts. Several of our products bear the MSC logo.
